Count your blessings!

The first step to successe is to be happy in the here and now. So even if you feel like life basically sucks at the moment there are always things to be greatful for. Here are some basics. Each time you say these affirmations - take your time - first imagine living without it and you will quickly realize just how greatful you truly are. Here are a few tips! 


  • I am greatful for the air in my lungs
  • I am greatful for the food I eat today
  • I am greatful for having accesse to the internett so that I can read this
  • I am greatful for my friends/family/pets/inspiering people
  • I am greatful for my bed
  • I am greatful for having another day on this planet
  • I am greatful for my eyesight/sence of smell/working legs, arms. Pick something on your fysical body and feel greatful. Your body's billions of cells are working super hard for you. Be a kind boss and thank them for their hard work.

Meditation tips

I know that your life can be hectic with work and family but try and make time to meditate. There are so many different ways to meditate. Find one that works for you. Here are a few tips. 

  • Meditate in the forest. You'll be surrounded by nature and its sounds and smells. A lot of us see nature as somehow separate from us and this is what makes a lot of us sick. We need to stay connected to our mother. Take a walk, find a spot that you feel guided to and sit for at least ten minutes, focusing on your breathing and the enery of the forest. 
  • Meditate whilst saying affirmations. What do you need to work on? Self love? Sit down somewhere where you won't be disturbed. Breathe deep three times and then say - I am pure love - over and over. Pick an affirmation that you need to work on. 
  • Walking meditation. Take a walk and try to still the mind, focusing on the air in your lungs, the surroundings and sounds. Don't label anything. Just BE.

It can be good to set a timer whilst meditating, that way you won't be distracted by thoughts of time. Whenever a thought comes along, let it come and go, just like a wave. Be the observer of your thoughts rather then being your thoughts. If lack of time is stopping you from meditation, remember that you can always stsart with as little as two minutes. You can be anywhere; sitting, standing or lying down. Just focus on the here and now and on your breathing. Become present.

Do MORE of what you love

What makes you happy? Small or big. I love watching children play. They live so in the moment and love life in a way most of us grown ups have lost. Think like a child! Even when you need to do the boring stuff. How can you make it more fun? One of my favourite things to do whilst I'm cooking dinner is to put on some great music, poor myself a glas of wine and dans and sing whilst I cook. Music can be good for calming you down and making the task at hand more fun. Music works for me whilst tidying up as well. Always ask yourself; How can I make this fun?

Write down a list of things you love to do. When you're having a bad or boring day then look at the list and do at least one of those things. Here are some of mine.

  • Dans (in the kitchen, on a dansfloor, in the car - wherever!
  • Sing (Anytime, anywhere)
  • Write books or songs
  • Talk to a friend who gives you energi. 
  • Watch a feel-good movie
  • Baking (this one is great for those moments I don't feel up to much and lack motivation).
  • Hugs
  • Meditation
